The new Toyota Hilux is the first all new Hilux for 12 years.
At CVM we like the Toyota Hilux so much we have payments on the Invincible Double Cab model from just £265 + VAT
The last model Hilux sold in huge numbers worldwide which may help to explain why the same basic model stayed in production for 12 years. Such a popular vehicle is always going to be difficult to replace. However Toyota have decided the time is right to fully overhaul the Hilux.
For UK buyers the main difference will be the all new 2.4 litre diesel engine. With most sales of the outgoing model being of the 3.0 litre powerplant will the decision to only release the Toyota Hilux with a smaller power unit be a decision that buyers will accept? We think that this should not be a problem as the new engine produces more torque than the outgoing model (400nm @1600-2000 rpm). This has allowed Toyota to increase the all important towing capacity to 3.5 tonnes.
Also increased on the new Toyota Hilux is the size and width of the payload area. The new Hilux carries a bigger load, and it does it to more places with the new styling allowing for steeper entrances and exits from difficult terrain. Whether that’s to access a building site or a weekend’s offroad adventure this flexibility will be popular with drivers. Combine this with Hill Start Assist and Downhill Assist Control and the Toyota Hilux shows its capabilities.
The interior of the 2016 Toyota Hilux has been updated as well. A new TFT screen Entertainment System is easy to use and climate control makes the Hilux as comfortable as most cars. A rear camera is standard on the Invincible model along with features such as Headlamp Cleaning and Lane Departure Warning.
